High bad loans big challenge for PSU banks: Chidambaram

Union Finance Minister P. Chidambaram while addressing the Quarterly Performance Review Meeting with the Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of Public Sector Banks and Financial Institutions, in New Delhi on Wednesday said “High bad loans biggest challenge for public sector banks.” Mr. Chidambaram further added that bad loans high among large corporate accounts. The Union Finance Minister stated “Government to take up United Bank bad loans issue with RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan on Friday.” Mr. Chidambaram asserted “Govt to revisit gold import duty after taking into account final Current Account Deficit figures.”
